Summon Ye' Mates

There are a couple of ways to beckon ye mateys to a pirate's soiree! You can line up your family of miscreants to walk the plank to your backyard, or spread the word with a treasure map invitation. Remember to mark the spot of your party location with an 'X'.

Building Ye Pirate Ship

Now ye gonna need to build ye a pirate ship, matey! And there ain’t none better than a Springfree Trampoline.

So before you start decking out the trampoline in all things pirate, take this opportunity to clean the decks of your Springfree. One fun way to start this watery showdown is with a water fight! Arrr arr!

All hands on deck for a scrub down!

We recommend using our Springfree Trampoline Care Kit, it contains our Mighty Mat & Net Wash specifically formulated to ensure your mat stays in great condition. It’s easy to use, just apply a small amount in water and brush over the mat with a soft broom.

Alternatively, just follow these steps:

  • Grab a bucket of clean warm water

  •  Mix in 2 tsp (10ml) of dishwashing liquid

  • Gently work the soapy mixture using a soft bristled scrub brush over the area to be cleaned

  •  When finished, rinse trampoline thoroughly with clean water

  • If you have a spider web build-up on your trampoline net, we recommend using a soft bristle broom or brush.

NB: Be sure to be careful when the mat is wet and soapy, it can be very slippery!

Let's Create Ye' Ship Structure

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Masking Tape ·
  • Large Cardboard Boxes (flattened and cut) or Cardboard Sheets ·
  • Paint and Paint Brushes/Crayons
  • Optional Postal/Cardboard Tube – to be used as telescope or canon

The cardboard sheets will become the bow and stern of the ship. Cut it to shape by making one end of each sheet of cardboard come to a higher point.

NB. Light-weight cardboard would work best if you are going to gently tape it to the rod. Whilst heavier cardboard can be used to sit around the trampoline rather than attaching or taping it.

Get creative with paint and crayons and be sure to capture the ocean and waves along the bottom of the cardboard. Now you have ye pirate ship structure built around ye trampoline, it’s time to add the pirate touches.

We’ve supplied a range of pirate printables to help you along:

How To:

PIRATE FLAG

You will need:

  • Paint/paint brush OR crayons/pencils
  • Cardboard/Craft Paper
  • Bamboo Rod/Stick
  • Masking Tape & Craft Glue

Print and cut-out the supplied Pirate Flag printable. Add your own flair and colours using the pirate flag template if you wish or go with the traditional black & white pirate flag. Tape or stick the flag cut-out to some craft paper or cardboard, and tape it to a stick. Use masking tape to attach it onto your trampoline enclosure.

PORTHOLES

You will need:

  • Paper Plates
  • Craft Glue
  • Paint/Paint Brush
  • Cellophane

Using the paper plates. Cut out the inner part of the paper plates to create a hole. Each porthole will need 2 x plates. Paint both sides of the plates. Whilst the paint is drying, cut out your cellophane to size – this will need to fit over the hole in the plate. This will make the window part of the porthole. Simple place the cellophane between the two plates and glue them together.

NB. Make sure the plates are both facing the same way so they hold the cellophane in place.

PIRATE BUNTING

You will need:

  • Paper/Cardboard
  • String
  • Hole Punch
  • Paint/Paint Brush and Crayons/Pencils
  • Bulldog Clips

Print and cut-out the supplied Pirate Bunting printable. Add some creative flair with paint and crayons. Find the flat edge (so the point of the triangle is down) then using the hole-punch create two holes:  one in the left corner and one in the right corner. Feed the tie through each triangle with string. Once you have created a row of Pirate Bunting, gently fasten it to the top of the trampoline net banding using a bulldog clip.

PIRATE HAT & EYE PATCH

You will need:

  • Paper/Cardboard
  • String or Elastic
  • Hole Punch
  • Paint and Paint Brush/Crayons

Print and cut-out the supplied Pirate Hat and Eye Patch printable – use as a stencil to cut your paper or cardboard into the hat and eye patch shapes. Add some creative flair by colouring in. Using the hole-punch, create two holes at each end of the hat/eye patch. Cut your elastic or string and tie through these holes to the desired size to fit.

Alrighty then, now before ye set sail on ye Springfree Pirate Ship, remember the 3 Pirate Commandments:

  • Every pirate ship and each scallywag pirate needs a name!
  • A hidden treasure or message in a bottle is never too far from shore.
  • Any rowdy pirates will be forced to walk the plank.
