FREE Events for Kids in Melbourne 2019
min read

You don’t have to burn a hole in your pocket in order to entertain the kids around Melbourne, with FREE events for kids on every month! Be sure to fit some of these festivals into your busy weekend and school holiday schedules between now and December.
Bastille Day French Festival
This annual and authentic festival, gathers the French-Australian community together to celebrate Bastille Day, and is a must-attend event for Francophiles and French expats. Learn about French food, wine, history and culture from a diverse range of Melbourne-based, French business owners who are passionate about all their native country has to offer. There’s an area with activities to amuse the kids such as badge making and French storytelling, while parents take turns enjoying a master class in cooking French food or watching a classic French film with English subtitles.
This year, the festival will take place at Federation Square in the Atrium, Deakin Edge Theatre and the Deakin Edge Terrace, combining both indoor and outdoor areas, so exhibitors and visitors can rug up and enjoy the fresh winter air or warm up under cover while enjoying one of many French specialties.
