If you're looking for a fun-filled day out, Edendale Farm is the perfect place to bring the family. Not only will the kids get to meet some cute and cuddly farm animals, but they can also help to feed them. Across the road from the North Entrance of the farm is the Eltham North Adventure Playground (also free). Most of the playground is under cover so it’s perfect for those days when Melbourne’s weather will not make up its mind. Next to the epic playground are BBQ facilities, toilets, and sheltered picnic tables.

For the history buffs in the family, Polly Woodside is a fascinating destination. Originally built in Belfast, Northern Island, the ship first set sail in 1885. How did it end up in Australia?
