Safe Use Guide
We want all Springfree™ Trampoline owners to enjoy safe jumping in their backyards.
We've removed all the traditional injury causing hazards from the trampoline design – effectively “engineering out” the elements responsible for most injuries.
Even with the World's Safest Trampoline, injuries are still possible from incorrect or irresponsible use. Customers have asked us to guidance, so we've developed the following guideline to assist:
Safe Installation
The World's Safest Trampoline needs a good safe platform to work from. Please make sure when you installl it, that:
1. Your springfree is installed on a flat surface
2. Your Springfree has at least 1 metre clearance around all sides. This not only allows safe access on to the trampoline surface, but will allow the FlexiNet to stretch outwards when catching wayward jumpers.
How to Jump Safe
Whilst independent tests prove Springfree really is the safest trampoline in the world, a good design can only go so far in keeping you safe. Knowing how to jump safely and having some basic guidelines for trampoline owners will ensure an even safer and more enjoyable experience.
Here are our basic safety guidelines:
Adult supervision for younger jumpers: kids will be kids, and when they’re young they don’t have the same capacity to assess what’s dangerous. Having an adult there to guide them is crucial in their development, and it’s great family bonding time. Why not take turns (it’s great cardio vascular exercise for Mum and Dad too, and kids learn by example. Go on, you know you want to jump too!)
They’re kids not cockroaches, so the last place they belong is crawling with the creepy bugs under the trampoline. So make sure the kids stick to the top and where everyone can see you, and you’re sure to be out of harm’s way.
Stand back to get a better view: when kids are actively jumping, the best approach is to stand clear to give them enough room to do their thing. Because the FlexiNet™ will naturally extend beyond the mat boundary when pushed, the safest place is out of the way. Besides, being a little further back allows you to marvel at their jumping finesse and pick up some cool tricks for when it’s your turn!
One at a time when you’re jumping: There are lots of natural play activities kids can enjoy on a trampoline, but when it comes to safety – one at a time is the only safe way. 17% of trampoline accidents are caused by collision when more than one person is on a trampoline. So it just makes common sense. If you’re on your Springfree – one at a time is the only safe option.
Somersaults and flips need professional training: Flips are great fun, but first make sure you get training from the professionals – such as Gymnastics Australia. Untrained jumpers run the risk of landing awkwardly and causing potentially serious injuries. So if you’re a keen gymnast, learn from the experts so you can be guided on safe ways to learn extreme trampolining!
The best place for Fido is on the ground: bouncing is not a natural experience for the family pet, so whilst you may enjoy it so much that you think Fido will too, it will probably frighten and make him giddy. You'll also run the risk of colliding with Fido on the trampoline - which could injure you both. So stay safe and keep your pets happy – let them watch from the yard.
My trampoline’s a play cubby! Building a cubby or taking other toys onto the trampoline can be a lot of fun, and it’s a very natural thing for kids to do. It’s great to get them away from the televisions, and let their imaginations run wild with other ways to enjoy your Springfree trampoline. Just ensure no sharp objects make their way onto your Springfree at any time (as it may do damage to both the kids and the mat) and don't forget when it’s time to jump again, ensure you remove all foreign objects from within the trampoline enclosure, so they don’t become potential points of impact for growing bones.
