This morning the Today Show and consumer correspondent, Janice Lieberman, featured a report on the dangers of backyard trampolines – and Springfree Trampoline was recommended as the safer choice. Watch the clip below!

The statistics are scary. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 100,000 children are sent to hospital every year due to trampoline-related injury.

“A trampoline that is doing everything right, a safer version…Springfree Trampoline” – Savannah Guthrie, Today Show co-host and chief legal analyst

Years of research have gone into Springfree Trampoline’s design and we are proud to be the only trampoline to eliminate the areas that cause injury on spring-based trampolines. No frame, no springs and you can’t fall off – we really are the world’s safest trampoline!

What a morning! Thank you to everyone who watched and commented!

The Matty Johns show has gone in leaps and bounds since its first nerve racking, hard-to-watch episode just a few weeks ago and Controversy Corner was in its prime last night debating NRL’s biggest scandal of its history.

But whilst others were still reveling in this news I moved on to the Segment where Titans players, Nathan Friend and Greg Bird jumped on a dangerous style Trampoline in the ‘Home While Your Away’ skit.

Joyously jumping, Nathan lost balance and landed into the net. What the net was meant to do was protect him from falling to the ground. INSTEAD the net ripped open from one side to the other, making him hold on for dear life. He is not a little man I know, but this just goes to show the danger of el cheapo nets!Comparison

A lot of people mistake Springfree™Trampoline simply as the ‘ones with the nets’, but there is a huge difference to put it lightly so I thought I would take this opportunity to distinguish the difference.

Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline patented FlexiNetâ„¢ enclosure has flexible supports to cushion jumpers and prevent falls.
Our FlexiNetâ„¢ is designed to be impact absorbing, flexing and guiding wayward jumpers back to the centre of the trampoline instead of leaning_into_net2directing them down onto the edge.

The jumper cannot make contact with the flexi rods. Traditional enclosures MAY stop jumpers falling off if it doesn’t rip, but in doing so, either direct them into rigid steel poles or straight down onto the springs and frame.

Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline uses unique “raschel” knitting technology. Unlike old style enclosure nets, small holes or cuts do not ‘run’ into large tears.

The Springfree FlexiNet is also zippered to ensure jumpers can’t fall through the opening, and with a lock, parents can control who has access to the trampoline and when.

So in conclusion we are WAY different and damn proud!

South Australian ‘ladies that lunch’ have again raised the profile (and cash) for child safety and injury prevention.

Named after the magnificent racing mare, Makybe Diva, Adelaide’s exclusive girls Diva Club was launched in 2007 to raise money for the Kidsafe SA branch.

DivaLunchThe luncheon fundraiser has grown and is now Kidsafe SA’s most profitable fundraising event of the year, helping them to raise awareness for accidental child injury.

And their latest luncheon was no disappointment – with hundreds of raffle tickets sold to win an SF40 Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline. The ladies had their DIVA glare going when long time Kidsafe supporter, Jo Connolly won.  Well not really, everyone was stoked for her, but let’s not ruin a good story.

Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline is very happy to be able to partner with Kidsafe as we both share a united vision – to keep children safe!

Big Thumbs Up for Springfree Trampoline

Big Thumbs Up for Springfree Trampoline

Camp Quality’s Main Camp kicked off (or should I say bounced off) yesterday on the Sunshine Coast.

This camp is for diagnosed children aged between 9 and 13 years and there was laughter all around.  Springfree™ Trampoline has been a Camp Quality supporter all year, donating thousands of dollars and providing their camps with Springfree™Trampolines to add just a little more laughter into their day.

Greeted by volunteer supervisers, who were Friendly, enthusiastic and funny, I got a feel of what it must be like to be at one of these highly praised and reputable Camps.  Everyone was in such high spirits and there was an inspirational aura around the camp.  Maybe it was because of the strength and courage of some of the kids that attended the camp, or maybe it was the attitude of the organisers and volunteers? Whatever the reason, no one does Fun Therapy quite like Camp Quality.

I wonder if I can conjure up some excuse to go back tomorrow. I heard they are having a Talent Contest…

We spotted this recent post from a “trampoline owner to be” on the Essential Baby Forum and thought that it was a great example of just how passionate Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline owners are about their Springfree.

QUESTION:

We are tossing up between the Springfree and the regular run of the mill Big W job.

For those who have a Springfree:

Do you think you have/will get your moneys worth out of it?

Are they as safe as what they proclaim?

Are they easy to install yourself?

ANSWERS:

1: Yes, yes and yes to all!

Very happy and very safe … yes put it up ourselves and probably took an hour or so. I think you can pay extra and have them install it for you.

My DD broke her arm and had to have surgery from falling off one of the normal type tramps. No accidents since we have had the Springfree!

2: Yes Yes and Yes again!!

We won ours and honestly before we had it I would not have spent the money on one when there are the other enclosed style BUT now we have one, there is no way I would consider any other trampoline, if for some reason we needed another, I would not hesitate to purchase a Springfree again.

FANTASTIC and a great place to put crawling bubs while you hang out the laundry LOL

Ours is over 2 years old now and still looks as good as new, still gets jumped on daily and shows no signs of wear and tear.

Can not recommend highly enough.

DO IT you will not regret it one bit.

Oh and they look a hell of a lot nicer too :)

PARENTS are being warned about the dangers of children’s trampolines with the UK’s Kingston Hospital recording a surge in the number of youngsters treated for accidents caused by them.

In just five months, doctors at the hospital saw more than 130 trampoline-related injuries including wounds and fractures and several even needed surgery.

The recent research, carried out by consultant and clinical head for emergency medicine Dr Harris and senior staff nurse Marcus Wootton, revealed a fifth of the injuries were in children under five who had been playing on trampolines of more than 10 feet in diameter.

On average, more than two other people were on the trampoline with them, which Dr Harris said was even more dangerous for the lightest child, who would be five to 14 times more likely to be injured. In 68 per cent of cases the injured child did not even fall off the trampoline, the injury caused on the product itself or by collision.

This is due to ‘double bouncing’ – where people jumping at the same time causes the transfer of kinetic energy, catapulting the lightest person in to the air.
But it seems the injuries weren’t all the result of scientific phenomena – a third of accidents were the result of youngsters deliberately jumping from the trampoline or accidentally falling off it.

The doctors have called on retailers to brief parents on safety guidelines when selling the toys, which have grown in popularity over the past few years and are particularly popular in Kingston and Richmond, where homes tend to have bigger gardens.

There are many trampoline designs on the market and one would think safety would be the most important factor when purchasing a trampoline for the kids?

For Springfree™ Trampoline this report is not new or surprising for that matter.  Statistics have always demonstrated an unacceptable and scary number of childhood injuries, but what is surprising is that parents continue to purchase unsafe trampolines.

Springfreeâ„¢ Trampoline has been on a mission since 2003 to reduce injury occurrence – and we’ll keep working hard to make backyards safer.  We reckon, parents wouldn’t let their kids ride on a bike without a helmet or ride in a car without a seatbelt – so why let them jump on an unsafe trampoline?
