About Springfree Trampoline

The Springfree™ Trampoline was designed by New Zealand engineer Dr. Keith Alexander, at the University of Canterbury. After 12 years of injury prevention research, the design was commercialized in 2003 and is now sold in 15 countries with new sales regions coming on stream on a regular basis.

SFTA has the sole rights to distribute the Springfree™ Trampoline in Australia.

Our Vision

Springfree™ Trampoline was designed to create a recreational trampoline that was significantly safer and more fun to use. Representing the first truly revolutionary design variant since the original trampoline was released in the 1930s, Springfree™ Trampoline brings you a smart, safety-conscious design from a team of world class of engineers.

Say the word 'trampoline' and nine out of ten people think "coiled steel springs and steel tube perimeter frame". NOT with Springfree Trampoline! Like running shoes, software or kitchen appliances, there are followers and then there are innovators—you know right away which brands lead in these categories—and Springfree™ Trampoline is THE innovator in trampolines. Springfree™ Trampoline's leading-edge products are changing the face of child injury prevention; we will in time, change the way the world views the word 'trampoline'.

We see a world where children are not unwittingly exposed to the risk of severe injury trauma in the backyard; where innovative our products can change the way we live; where kids can finally jump for joy, safely.

The Definition of Safety

The Springfree™ is ‘a trampoline that’s not a trampoline as you know it’. Springfree™ has created the world's safest trampoline products that effectively remove all the traditional impact areas that cause equipment induced trampoline injuries.

tram·po·line (noun)
A strong, taut sheet, usually of canvas, attached with springs to a metal frame and used for gymnastic springing and tumbling.
Spring·free™ Trampoline (proper noun)
A next-generation design trampoline removing all dangerous design elements present in conventional trampolines – the steel coil springs, the frame at the jumping surface, rigid steel enclosure poles and the risk of falling off.

A Leader in Trampoline Safety

Over 6000 Australian children are admitted to hospital each year after suffering injury on the springs and frame of ‘old style’ trampolines, or by falling off. International studies show only one in ten trampoline injuries result in a logged hospital visit - so statistically it's likely over 60,000 Australian children suffer some type of trampoline equipment induced injury on 'old style' trampolines each year. With Springfree™ Trampoline's 'no impact zone' technology, there's now a safer jumping option for your backyard.

Other manufacturers have come up with 'bandaid' solutions, such as temporary padding and rigid “safety” enclosures which introduce another set of injury risks. At Springfree™ Trampoline we have created the world's safest trampoline products that effectively remove all the traditional areas that cause trampoline equipment induced injuries.

Let's put trampoline injury statistics in context, twenty years ago it was socially acceptable to drink and drive, send your kids off to school without a bike helmet, or put your kids in a car without seat-belts; all of these actions are considered irresponsible and unacceptable today. Springfree™ Trampoline suggests that in a few years time parents and injury prevention experts will be amazed anyone ever let children play on traditional 'old style' trampolines. The good news is that Springfree™ Trampoline will continue to promote trampolining as a fun form of exercise, but has engineered out virtually all the hard injury causing surfaces.

What do we see? 12 years and millions of dollars in research and development to create the world's safest, superior and patented 'Next Generation' trampoline. You may say Springfree is ‘just a trampoline’, but like IPod™ is “just a walkman”, and Google™ is “just a web browser”— our leading edge innovative products will go along way in removing childhood injury and trauma in the backyard.
